“I like that kind of opponent who bumps into you like, 'I'm here!'. I really like this style of challengers. This makes me very excited because I have a clearer goal. I'll be ready. I know she is strong and will try to attack me (with) punches and I have to be ready for that”, said Shevchenko in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

Favorite for the fight, Valentina says that she respects Jéssica for her career achievements and vast experience, but that she is adjusted to the Brazilian's style of play. Furthermore, the champion believes she already 'knows what to expect' from her opponent.

“Obviously, she has physical strength and is thinking she can fight anyone. But other than strength, I can't see different things in her. Of course, it's a big difference if she's fighting someone who doesn't have enough power versus her strength, but everything changes when her opponent has the same power or maybe even more. I know what to expect from her. But this is not something new. It's not something dangerous or something you should be afraid of or anything else. Her fighting game is quite understandable,” she concluded the champion.

After his transition from Kickboxing to MMA, Shevchenko built a record of 20 wins and three losses. His last setback was for the Brazilian Amanda nunes, in September 2017, when he was still fighting in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2kg.). Since then, the athlete has moved down a division and won eight consecutive victories, in addition to holding the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg) since 2018.
