Great news for Brazilians. Number one in the light heavyweight rankings (up to 93kg.), Glover Teixeira has a date for his second title fight in Ultimate. The miner had a confrontation against the champion, Jan Blachowicz, confirmed for the UFC 266, which takes place on September 4th. The information was made official by Dana White, in an interview with 'ESPN'.

At a great stage in his career, this will be Glover's second chance to reach the top of the light heavyweight division. With five consecutive victories, the Minas Gerais native got his passport to face the champion after submitting Thiago Marreta, in the fight held in November.
Division leader since September 2020, Blachowicz is heading towards his second title defense. The Pole had his first challenge as 'king' of the group in March, when he defeated Israel adesanya, in a superfight against the middleweight title holder.
An MMA veteran, Glover arrives for a new title fight seven years after his first attempt, in 2014. At the time, the Brazilian, who was undefeated in the UFC, with five wins without a streak, ended up experiencing a setback in the company against the legend of the division, Jon Jones.
At 41 years old, Teixeira will have his 40th fight as a professional in MMA. Today, the Brazilian has 32 wins and seven losses in the sport.
Seeking to stay at the top of the group, Blachowicz seeks to show that he deserves to have the title around his waist. Without losing in five commitments, the athlete is looking for his 29th triumph. Currently, the combatant has 28 positive results and eight negative results.
