Back after four years, heavyweight massacres rival with devastating knockout at UFC Vegas 23

Without fighting since 2016, Jarjis Danho runs over Yorgan De Castro in a clash held on the preliminary card

Back in Ultimate after more than four years away from MMA, Jarjis Danho returned in style. In the confrontation against yorgan de castro, held this Saturday (10), by UFC Las Vegas 23, the Syrian accepted the frank exchange and delivered a brutal knockout in the first round. The defeat to Danho turned on the warning signal for Yorgan. The result confirmed the Cape Verde fighter's third negative result in a row. In May 2020, the athlete missed both commitments.

Chilean debuts with defeat in bloody fight

A real battle marked the meeting between John makdessi e Ignatius Bahamondes. A debutant in the show, the Chilean experienced the difficulties encountered in the UFC in a harsh way. In a duel promoted by the lightweights, the Canadian accepted the frank striking and came out on top after three rounds, winning by unanimous decision from the judges in one of the best fights on the card.

Experienced in Ultimate, Makdessi recovered from the defeat he suffered against Francisco Massaranduba, in March 2020. Now, the fighter has 18 positive results in 25 commitments as a professional in MMA.

A newcomer to the company, Ignacio did not have an easy life. Revealed by 'Contender Series', the Chilean came close to being knocked out in the first round, but recovered and balanced the duel in the following stages. Defeated by points, the athlete left the octagon with his face badly injured.

Shore wins busy fight and remains 100%

In a duel contested at bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.), Jack shore and Hunter Azure promoted one of the busiest clashes on the preliminary card. In the 'hit, take' battle, the fighters opened their toolboxes and fought a fight marked by balance. After 15 minutes of action, the Welshman came out on top, winning a split decision from the judges.

The points triumph confirmed Shore's 100% career success rate. The athlete took to the octagon to defend 13 positive results in a row and now continues his journey towards the elite of the category led by Alexander Volkanovsky.

The defeat this Saturday prevented Azure from confirming their second consecutive victory. Now, the combatant has two triumphs and two setbacks in the company.

Da-Un Jung dominates rival and maintains unbeaten record

In the second fight of the night, a real ride. In the confrontation between Da-Un Jung and William knight, the Japanese didn't give his rival the slightest chance and won in dominant fashion. With a confident performance, Jung abused the takedowns and triumphed in the confrontation with a unanimous decision from the judges.

With the result, Da-Un maintained his unbeaten record in Ultimate. Now, the Japanese has three wins in four appearances. In his last match, the athlete had drawn against Sam alvey, UFC 254.

The loss to Jung marked Knight's first setback in the UFC. Discovered on the 'Contender Series', the North American debuted with victory in September 2020. The North American hadn't lost since November 2019.

Kasanganay submits and recovers from historic knockout

After making history and suffering one of the most brutal knockouts in UFC history, Impa Kasanganay bounced back in style. In the duel that opened the show, valid for the welterweight division (up to 77kg), the North American had no difficulties against Sasha Palatnikov. After a dominant first round, the athlete made his rival succumb with a rear naked choke in the second stage.

In October 2020, Kasanganay made MMA history by suffering one of the most beautiful knockouts ever seen in the sport, when he was 'erased' with a cinematic blow from Joaquin buckley. In addition to the negative result, the outcome marked the first defeat in the American's career.

About six months later, Impa recovered and got back on track with his career victories. Now, the fighter has nine victories in 10 commitments as a professional in MMA.

In his second appearance in Ultimate, Paltnikov felt the bitter taste of defeat for the first time. The athlete had debuted in November 2020 and beat Louis Cosce, by UFC 255.
