Amanda's wife, Nina abandons 'Ansaroff' and adopts 'Nunes' as her surname

Wife of the legendary Amanda 'Leoa', Nina ansaroff will abandon his surname and start presenting himself for fights using the Brazilian's 'Nunes'. Married to the double Ultimate champion, the North American will debut the new name this Saturday (10), when she faces Mackenzie dern No. UFC Las Vegas 23. An MMA professional since 2010, this will be the first time that Nina will perform without using her traditional surname. The clash will also mark the American's return to the octagon since she gave birth to little Raegan, born in September 2020.

Current number five in the strawweight rankings, Nunes will try to revive her dream of competing for the belt in the category led by Weili Zhang. In her last commitment, in 2019, the athlete ended up losing to Tatiana Suarez placeholder image, interrupting a sequence of four consecutive victories. After the setback, Nina decided to interrupt her career to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.

To get back on the winning track, Nunes will need to stop Mackenzie, who is on the rise in the category, driven by four positive results in a row. The North American's last triumph came in December 2018, when she overcame the Brazilian Claudia Gadelha.
