Demetrious Johnson speaks out after suffering first knockout of his career

Run over by Adriano Moraes in the flyweight title fight at ONE Championship, North American explains about setback

After suffering the first knockout in his victorious career, Demetrious Johnson it didn't take long to manifest itself after the defeat suffered by Adriano Moraes. Hardly beaten by the Brazilian in the fight for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg), at ONE Championship, the North American used social media to clarify the result. The athlete took the opportunity to praise the champion.

“It's okay, guys. Back to the hotel and rewatched the fight. A bad day at work. Congratulations to Adriano Moraes. I will be back”, wrote the athlete, on his account on 'Twitter'.

Considered a legend in Ultimate, Demetrious ended up losing his 100% success rate since arriving at the Asian organization. Before switching forces against Moraes, the American had a streak of three victories, which qualified him to face the champion for the flyweight title.

In his most important commitment at ONE, however, Johnson ended up suffering the first knockout of his career. The three defeats that the North American had suffered in MMA had been on points.
