The black belt Gilbert Durinho will restart his journey towards the welterweight belt (up to 77.1 kg.) facing a great challenge. The Brazilian, second in the category ranking, will face the North American Stephen Thompson, fifth in the classification. The duel will be on the main card of UFC 264, scheduled for July 10th, at a location not yet announced.

Durinho, who has a professional record of 19 wins and four losses, reached the peak of his MMA career in the welterweight division. After moving up from lightweight (up to 70.3 kg), he won four duels in the category before facing the champion Kamaru Usman No. UFC 258, in February. After a good start in the title fight, the Brazilian athlete was knocked out in the third round against the Nigerian.
