Retired since October 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov knows perfectly well what it's like to work with UFC president Dana White. A top legend in the lightweight category (up to 70,3kg), the Russian opened up about his boss's personality and confirmed the difficulties in dealing with the controversial attitudes of his former boss. The statement was made at the promotional press conference for the UFC 260.

“It's very difficult to say 'no' to Dana White. I'll be very honest, because this guy is a good person from time to time. Other times, it’s not,” said Nurmagomedov.
Willing to interrupt his professional MMA career, Khabib was the victim of White's advances, who refused to lose one of his biggest stars. Since October 2020, the agent has held meetings with the athlete, with the intention of keeping the legend on his squad.
“It was very honest, a real conversation between two men. It's how I feel. At the last meeting, he asked me: 'what are you going to do?'. I replied: 'nothing has changed”, concluded the former fighter.
Khabib's definitive retirement caused the UFC to act quickly and escalate Charles of the Bronx against Michael chandler in the fight for the vacant lightweight title. The new champion will be announced on May 15, at UC 262.
