No athlete is caught in the UFC 156 anti-doping test

The result was expected mainly due to the presence of Dutchman Alistair Overeem on the card

The Nevada Athletic Commission released this Wednesday (13) the results of the anti-doping test for UFC 156, carried out on the 2nd. According to the data, none of the 22 athletes who performed on fight night in Las Vegas were caught by the use of doping substances. The result was highly anticipated due to the Dutchman's presence on the card alistair overeem, in his first fight after a nine-month suspension for doping.

On March 27 last year, Overeem was caught in a drug test and was found to have an epitestosterone level in his body that was 14 times higher than that of a normal human being. To give you an idea of what this represents, Wada (World Anti-Doping Agency) considers a level four times higher of the substance acceptable and the Athletic Commission allows athletes to fight with up to six times more epitestosterone than normal.

The increased attention on Overeem didn't just come from the public. If there were no irregularities in the regular tests carried out with “The Reem”, the Dutchman will still have to wait a little longer to breathe a sigh of relief. This is because the results of an extra blood test, carried out shortly after the event, will only be released in a week.
