Thominhas Almeida vents after tough defeat at UFC 260: 'I gave my all'

Hardly beaten by Sean O'Malley last Saturday, Brazilian speaks out for the first time after knockout

One of the protagonists of one of the main fights of the UFC 260, Thominhas Almeida It ended up not having the expected result. Hard beaten by Sean O'Malley, the Brazilian spoke out for the first time after the fourth negative result in a row. The athlete used social media to vent to his fans.

“I would like to thank everyone for the supportive and motivating messages. Saturday was not my night. Congratulations to O'malley. I gave my all, I did everything that was in my control pre-fight and that makes me a little more calm”, wrote the Brazilian, in his account on Instagram.

Considered one of the promises in the Brazilian bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), Almeida guaranteed that he had adequate preparation for the confrontation. After the negative result, however, the São Paulo native left his future in Ultimate open.

"Mine camp (training period) was excellent. The professionals who are with me are to be congratulated and now it's time to give time and think about the best for my future. (…) Giving up was never an option”, he concluded.

At 29 years old, Thominhas has become popular with the Brazilian public since his first fights with Ultimate gloves. With his aggressive style and ability to knock out his opponents, the athlete soon caught the attention of the company and sports fans.

The athlete's moment, however, is not the best. After the loss to Sean, Thominhas completed his fifth defeat in the last six fights. The fighter's future in the company then became uncertain.
