Almost two years after being knocked out in five seconds by Jorge masvidal, Ben Askren once again spoke publicly about the matter and sniped at his former rival. In a statement given in his 'Twitter', the former fighter stated that he was beaten thanks to a lucky break and that his opponent only became known after beating him. The duel between the two took place in UFC 239, in July 2019.

“You got the luckiest knee of your life and I made you famous. You are welcome. You took a '50-43' from Usman and you will take it again next month”, declared the 36-year-old athlete.
Ben Askren's last professional fight was in October 2019, when he was defeated by the Brazilian Demian Maia. Former welterweight champion (up to 771.kg) of the Bellator and ONE Championship, 'Funky' had a short stint in the UFC. There were three fights, with one victory and two negative results.
Retired since the setback to Maia, Askren will face an unusual challenge in the coming weeks. On April 17th, he will face the youtuber Jake Paul, in a boxing match. The fight will take place in Atlanta (USA).
Current number four in the division ranking, Jorge masvidal will be the champion's next opponent Kamaru Usman. The duel was sent to the UFC 261, scheduled for April 24th. It will be a rematch of the fight that took place in July 2020. On that occasion, the Nigerian retained the title by defeating the North American on points.
I've refrained for 2 years, but let's be real Jorge. You landed the luckiest knee of your life and I made you famous. You're welcome. You got 50-43'd by Usman and will likely again next month. Beat it loser. https://t.co/JwZyaxGYa1
