“It hurt to lose to him, because Colby was willing to use his controversial ways to provoke some more sensitive people. Whether it was with Brazilians or about politics, whatever he was doing, everything for him, was a game. I think there are certain things you shouldn't joke about. For someone I used to have as a training partner…Yeah, that hurt more than anything else,” said Woodley.

Still in the interview, Tyron stated that he tried to control Covington's momentum, but that his obsession with using provocations to become better known and make money was greater.

“I once told him, 'There's a different way to do this, you're going to look stupid and silly. But if that's what you want to do, go ahead.' He said, 'Man, I'm just trying to get money and build my name so we can make a lot of money.' I told him I wouldn't say anything else. I never said anything about it publicly, because I was the champion. I didn’t have to address him,” Tyron said.

With a record of 19 wins and six losses, Woodley is in a terrible phase in the organization. His last triumph was over Darren till, at UFC 228, in September 2018. Currently, the 'Chosen One' occupies seventh place in the ranking of the division.
