Khabib's manager disagrees with 'Do Bronx x Chandler' for the lightweight belt

With Khabib Nurmagomedov officially retired, the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) already has two possible destinations. The news that Charles of the Bronx e Michael chandler will compete for the title did not please the Russian's manager, who suggested another name for one of the vacancies. "Justin gaethje He deserves a title shot more than these other guys,” the agent wrote.

Representing big MMA stars, Ali also works with Gaethje, who became interim lightweight champion in 2020. In October of the same year, the businessman ended up divided when Nurmagomedov and Justin shared the Octagon to unify the title.

Executioner of Tony Ferguson, Gaethje has not fought since the setback to Khabib, in UFC 254. Today, the fighter occupies second place in the ranking, behind only Dustin poirier and Khabib himself, who should leave the list in the group's next update.

After confirming Khabib's official retirement, the UFC board acted quickly and scheduled Do Bronx and Chandler for a confrontation at the UFC 262. The fight will take place on May 15th.
