Pezão publishes photo of the scale after regaining weight: 127,8 kg

Brazilian gains practically 9 kg in a few hours and celebrates on social media

Big foot swings

The Brazilian Antonio Pezão appears to have fought a tough battle against the scales to reach the 119kg he presented at the UFC 156 weigh-in, this Friday (1). The limit for the heavyweight category is 120 kg, exactly the weight your opponent weighs, alistair overeem. Some time after the weigh-in, and a few hours before the event in Las Vegas, Pezão published a photo on Instagram which shows your current weight in two units of measurement: 127,8 kg and 281,6 pounds. “My weight came back,” she commented.

In his last UFC appearance, in October, Pezão ran over American Travis Browne, knocking him out in the first round. However, one fight before, in his UFC debut, the Brazilian was mercilessly defeated by Cain Velazquez. Previously, Antônio Silva was a Strikeforce fighter, where he beat the Russian Fedor Emelianenko – one of the greatest achievements of his career.

In tonight's fight, for Pezão, the chance to move up in the UFC category and prevent Overeem, his rival, from competing for the heavyweight belt is at stake. This is because Dana White, president of Ultimate, has already confirmed that the Dutchman will be the next challenger for the title in case of victory over Antônio Silva. During the week, the opponents exchanged barbs through public statements and even faced each other strangely after the weigh-in.
