One of the Brazilian representatives at the UFC Las Vegas 22, which takes place this Saturday (20), Johnny Eduardo is out of action. Due to visa problems, the veteran is unable to travel to the United States and leaves the duel against Anthony Birchak. The information was confirmed by the fighter, in his account on Instagram.

“For reasons of scheduling my visa, I was not considered to return on this date. The UFC is making arrangements and scheduling me for an upcoming appointment. (…) These obstacles only came to strengthen me, polish me and make me much stronger. I’m ready, just waiting for the visa to be able to board”, wrote the man from Rio de Janeiro.
The weekend would mark Eduardo's return to the Octagon after almost three years of inactivity. The 40-year-old athlete hasn't fought since his defeat to Nathaniel Wood, in July 2018.
Responsible for welcoming Johnny, Birchak would seek his first victory with Ultimate gloves. Defeated in his debut, the North American is now looking for a new opponent so that he doesn't need to be removed from the show.
With plans to return to the Octagon frustrated, Eduardo would be under pressure for the duel this weekend. Representative of the bantamweights (up to 61,2kg.), the athlete has two consecutive setbacks and has three defeats in the last five appearances.
Even with Johnny out, Brazil will still have two Brazilian athletes in the event. On the preliminary card, Bruno Bulldoguinho will face J.P. Buys (flyweight) and Leo Santos will exchange forces with Grant dawson (lightweight).
