When asked about a rematch with Cyborg, Amanda Nunes doesn't shy away and gives a categorical answer

After running over Megan Anderson at UFC 259, Brazilian talks about the possibility of a new fight against her old rival

Every day more consolidated as the best fighter of all time, Amanda nunes follows with a shadow in its path: Chris Cyborg. Executioner of Curitiba in 2018, the Bahian needed to talk about the possibility of a rematch against her compatriot. After his victory in UFC 259, when he ran over Megan anderson and kept the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.), the Pojucana didn't hesitate and spoke about the subject.

“If she had stayed (in Ultimate), I would have no problem giving her a rematch. She left and that’s not my fault”, said the Brazilian, in a press conference after the show.

Run over by Amanda at UFC 232, Cyborg never hid her desire to return to exchange forces against the Bahian. The Curitiba native, however, ended up not having her contract renewed with the company chaired by Dana White in 2019 and subsequently migrated to Bellator.

Since leaving Ultimate, Cyborg has become a competitor's champion. Even in another organization, however, Cris continues to dream of a rematch to try to erase one of his two defeats in his successful career.

Amanda's victory confirmed the 'Lioness' as the absolute leader of the division that was once dominated by Cyborg. Now, the Pojucana has two title defenses in the category, which still has few opponents who can stand up to the champion.
