Amanda nunes will put the UFC featherweight belt (up to 06kg) on the line this Saturday (65,7) against the Australian Megan anderson. The Brazilian, listed in bookmakers as the biggest favorite of the star UFC 259, assured that he does not intend to step down from the throne anytime soon. Champion in two categories – she is also bantamweight champion (up to 61.2 kg.) – The Lioness reinforced that she intends to continue making history in both divisions.
“From now on, it’s just a matter of seeing what happens in the bantamweight division and continuing to fight. I will beat Megan (Anderson), for sure. I'm the champion and I'll keep the belt forever. Dana, whatever you want to do with the category, if you want to find another fighter, I'll be here to defend my belt”, said Amanda, during the Media Day of the UFC 259.
Despite the confidence in victory, Amanda nunes analyzed the dangers that the Australian brings to her game.
“Every fight is different. Megan is tall, dangerous, so it's important to have a strategy. In the first exchange, if I find my rhythm, I will end the fight. I like to challenge myself. That's why I chose MMA as my sport. This is a fight that challenges me. I have to continue defending my belts”, added the Brazilian.
Since debuting in the UFC in 2013, Amanda nunes was only defeated once, by Zingano cat, in September 2014. Since then, there have been 11 unbeaten fights. And to increase her undefeated streak, the 32-year-old athlete will face Megan anderson, UFC 259, this Saturday (6), for the featherweight belt.
