Petr Yan expects violent outcome in his first title defense this Saturday

Bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) since July 2020, Petr yan is ready for his first title defense. This Saturday (6), at UFC 259, the Russian should prove to be the best in the division against aljamain sterling. “My goal is to always end the fight early and cause damage. I see myself achieving a violent outcome. I will act very aggressively against him”, said Yan, in an interview with 'BJPenn.com'.

Known for his stand-up fighting technique, Petr admitted that he paid special attention to grappling, which is one of Sterling's strong points. The Russian, however, revealed that he is ready for any situation inside the octagon.

“I’m prepared for all areas of MMA. I can hurt him standing up and on the ground too. I will not be intimidated by the challenge. I'm training with grapplers high level. O grapple It doesn’t bother me,” he concluded.
