The 'rain of criticism' over the performance of Jairzinho Rozenstruik No. UFC Las Vegas 20, held last Saturday (27), seems not to have been enough for the Surinamese giant. Defeated by points in the confrontation with Cyryl Gane, the 'giant' took advantage of the opportunity and, in a statement on Twitter, he did not forgive himself for his actions. The athlete promised a speedy recovery.

“Fans, family and friends, I just fought and it wasn’t what I expected. I think it was my worst performance, if you ask me. So I'm explaining myself. I think I owe it to you”, said the Surinamese man in a regretful tone.

Even though he was down, the heavyweight (up to 120,2kg) assured that he will recover from the defeat he suffered, which temporarily postponed his dream of a title fight.

“I’m going to go back home and work hard for my next fight. I don't know when that will be. All respect to Ciryl (Gane). He won the fight. He's a professional. That’s all I can say,” he finished.

Protagonist of the show, alongside the Frenchman, Rozenstruik was far from the performances that placed him at the top of the category. In 25 minutes of combat, the Surinamese was largely dominated, not winning any round.

With the result, Jairzinho should lose fourth place to the Frenchman. It remains to be seen whether the athlete will remain in the top 5, or leave the top of the ranking.
