“People like things much worse than that, right? I don't like it either. I think it's a somewhat inexplicable thing, having two guys kill each other in a ring, without gloves and without any protection... I don't know, I think it's crazy”, said Rafael Colombo.
A bench partner at the newspaper, journalist Elisa Veeck also said that she avoids following the UFC and says she doesn't understand how the sport is shown in public places.
“When you go into a restaurant or bar and there's UFC playing on the screen, I never understand why it's on. They fight, there's blood everywhere and people are there, laughing and having a drink. I can’t understand this connection”, added Elisa Veeck.
INTERNAUT REACTIONS
Some internet users questioned the journalist's comments. According to them, there is no room for misinformation about the sport.
“What a stupid comment. They should study a little more about MMA before passing on misinformation like that”, wrote a follower.
“If it were a comedy program, these lines at the end would be acceptable, but from a newspaper like CNN, I expected journalists prepared to pass on information, if it's not to your taste, great, but pass information on national television with a minimum study on. Unprepared!” replied another fan.
O 'TikTok' is the media app to share short short videos. The tool was the most downloaded in 2020. Ultimate is the third most popular sports company on the platform, with more than 6,3 million followers. The partnership will begin this Saturday, with the UFC Las Vegas 19.
