“It would be crazy, really crazy for a guy like me. To go through everything I went through and become the UFC champion. World heavyweight champion. It's crazy to even put it in the same sentence with my name: 'Derrick Lewis, world heavyweight champion”, joked the athlete, in an interview with 'half day'.

Even with his modesty up to date, Lewis has done well in his recent commitments inside the octagon. With three consecutive victories, and currently in fourth place in the group, the fighter evaluated part of his trajectory in Ultimate.

At 36 years old, Derrick has been a UFC representative since 2014. For the organization, the athlete has, to date, 20 commitments, with 15 triumphs and five defeats.

Challenger for the division's belt in 2018, the fighter may be close to having another opportunity to take the belt home. At UFC 230, the fighter ended up losing his opportunity when he was overcome by the then champion, Daniel Cormier.
