Former champion in bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.), cody garbrandt remains motivated for a confrontation against José Aldo. After a 'green light' from the Brazilian, who published a poll for the confrontation on his account on Instagram, the North American asked the UFC for the contract to be signed by the parties. The attack took place through 'No Love' on Twitter.

“We're going to do it, José Aldo and Dana White? We both asked them to send the contracts”, wrote the North American.
Garbrandt began the 'pursuit' of Aldo after following the Brazilian's victory over Marlon Vera, in December 2020. On that occasion, the Brazilian surpassed his rival on points and achieved his first positive result since officially moving to the under-61,2kg group.
Former champion of the category, Cody overcame a turbulent phase in his MMA career. The athlete, who had three consecutive defeats in Ultimate, found his way back to victory by beating Raphael Assunção with a brutal knockout in the second round, in UFC 250.
Today, Garbrandt occupies fourth position in the category led by Petr yan. Aldo is close behind, in fifth. The North American believes that victory over one of the best competitors in MMA history could qualify him for a new title fight.
