In the sights of Kamaru Usman as the next challenger for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.), Jorge masvidal reacted with good humor to the champion's attack after the UFC 258. 'Threatened' by the Nigerian after the victory over Gilbert Durinho, the 'Jesus of the Streets' mocked the welterweight leader's proposal and provoked the former executioner on his social networks. Fighters faced each other in July 2020.

“The strategy for putting me in a coffin is to hug me and step on my toes? Who is he trying to fool?” Masvidal wrote on his Twitter account.
The challenge to Masvidal took place in an interview after last Saturday's show. In a serious tone, the Nigerian stated that he wants to prove that he can beat the North American before the end of the fifth round. At the first meeting, at UFC 251, Usman won by decision of the judges.
One of the highlights of the welterweight division, Masvidal has not been in the Octagon since his defeat to the champion. At the time, the North American accepted the challenge of exchanging forces against the Nigerian with less than a week's notice. The combatant replaced his own Gilbert Durinho, diagnosed, at the time, with Covid-19.
Defeated on points in 2020, Jorge stated that he would like the opportunity to face the champion within a suitable training period. Almost a year later, 'Jesus das Ruas' could receive the opportunity.
