One of the highlights of the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) of Ultimate, Charles of the Bronx is on good terms with the organization's president, Dana White. The 'boss' exempted the Brazilian from blame after refusing to face the newcomer, Michael chandler, UFC 258, which took place last Saturday (13), in Las Vegas (USA). In an interview with the North American website, 'Complex', the agent defended the athlete and spoke about the São Paulo native's situation in the category.

“Was there an offer for Chandler to fight Oliveira (Do Bronx)? Yes, but to be fair, a very high date was offered. We were just checking to see if these guys wanted a quick turnaround. He said, 'I want one camp (training period) complete'. And there’s nothing wrong with that”, declared Dana.

Those responsible for the fighter's career demand a fight for the lightweight belt (up to 70kg) for the Brazilian and have rejected opening negotiations for a fight with Chandler. The UFC president said he thought it was fair that Charles wanted to fight with enough time to prepare well and that this should not be seen as a refusal by the 'Chute Boxe' fighter.

“I don’t want to make this sound like Oliveira (Do Bronx) refused Michael chandler, because it's not true. What he refused was a last minute fight. If Charles wants a 'camp' complete, it's absolutely fair”, concluded the agent.
