The PFL (Professional Fighters League) announced, this Tuesday (9), the list of athletes taking part in the women's heavy and light tournaments. Among the participants, the names of the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum and former Olympic champion Kayla harrison. The season is scheduled to start in April.

At 43 years old, Werdum has 34 fights in MMA, 24 wins, nine losses and one draw. He was Ultimate's lineal champion between 2015 and 2016 and decided not to renew with the company after finishing, in the second round, Alexander Gustafson.
After negotiations with ONE Championship and Bellator, the Brazilian decided to settle with the PFL, in search of a prize of US$1 million (around R$5,3 million), paid to the winner of the tournament.
In addition to Werdum, Brazilians Renan ferreira e Bruno Cappelozza They are also among the heavyweight competitors. In the women's lightweight division, Larissa pacheco e Mariana morais will be the Brazilian representatives.
FAVORITE HARRISON
Current lightweight champion, the North American Kayla harrison will try to defend the divisional throne in the PFL. At age 30, she became known in the United States after winning the Olympic judo medal twice. The athlete won in London in 2012 and at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
In 2018, Harrison decided to make the transition to MMA and, since then, has remained undefeated. Currently, there are eight victories, three of which are knockouts, three submissions and two judges' decision fights. Her last performance took place at Invicta FC 43, against Courtney King, in November 2020.
After postponing the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the PFL is set to return on April 23. The other events of the season take place on April 29th, May 6th, June 10th, June 17th and June 25th.
