Frankie Edgar speaks out for the first time after defeat to Cory Sandhagen: 'See you soon'

Even after a brutal knockout, the former lightweight champion (up to 70.3 kg) assured that he was fine and promised to return soon

the way of Frankie Edgar even the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.) was brutally interrupted by Cory Sandhagen, last Saturday(6), at UFC Las Vegas 18. After being knocked out in just 28 seconds, the veteran spoke out for the first time, through his Instagram and seemed not to have been shaken by this defeat. Edgar made no excuses and said he would be back in the octagon soon.

“I've already taken enough care of my wounds. I'm at home with my family and my life is great. On Saturday, I was as prepared as possible to fight. Merit of Cory Sandhagen, he landed a perfectly timed and executed bomb on me, luckily I don't remember much (laughs). This game can be cruel and Saturday night was just that, but I didn't panic. I’ve been here before,” Edgar wrote.

Frankie comes from three defeats in the last four fights. When he was still playing at featherweight (up to 65,7kg), the athlete was beaten by Max Holloway e Korean zombie.

Former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.), Edgar made his bantamweight debut in August 2020, with a positive result over Peter Munhoz, in the judges' split decision. With the dream of winning his second title with UFC gloves, the 39-year-old veteran had his plans postponed by the tough knockout he suffered last weekend.
