Most important name in bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) today, Petr yan was linked to the co-main fight of UFC Las Vegas 18, held this Saturday (6), in the United States. After following the brutal victory of Cory Sandhagen about Frankie Edgar, the champion used social media to congratulate the North American, but also took the opportunity to needle the winger. Cory, today, is one of the candidates for a future title fight.

“(Frankie) Edgar is a legend. Time to move on. Good win for Cory, but it's hard to forget what my next opponent did to him. Let’s see what happens next”, wrote the champion, in his account on Twitter.
Owner of the category title since July 2020, Yan will make his first title defense at the UFC 259, against aljamain sterling. The Russian's publication was due to the meeting between the challenger and Sandhagen, in June of last season. On that occasion, Cory ended up submitting in less than two minutes, temporarily removing himself from a title fight.
After losing to Sterling, Sandhagen turned things around against Marlon moraes. Against the Brazilian, the North American also scored a great knockout, starting with a round kick in the second round.
Today, Cory is number two in the category ranking. Now, the athlete will need to wait for the outcome of the clash between his last tormentor and the current champion, which takes place on March 6th.
