Bantamweight (up to 61,2kg.), Cory Sandhagen, is excited to have the chance to compete for the category belt. With a scheduled fight against Frankie Edgar, UFC Las Vegas 18, this Saturday (6), the North American believes that, in case of victory, he will be the next challenger for the title.

“The only names that are still in the conversation are cody garbrandt and Dillashaw is coming back from a very serious (doping) suspension that he just came out of. So none of these guys are kind of in the running right now because of their situations,” said Sandhagen, at a pre-event press conference.
The rooster champion, Petr yan, defends the belt for the first time against aljamain sterling, UFC 259, on March 6th. Now, Sandhagen hopes to beat Edgar to secure the number one spot in the division. He says he's excited to face someone who has always inspired him.
“I was a fan of his. But we don't have similar fighting styles. Frankie has a history of always making good decisions. He maintains this over time, which has led him to where he is”, added the fighter.
Cory Sandhagen e Frankie Edgar make the second most important fight in the UFC Las Vegas 18, which also features a fight between Alistair Overrem and Alexander Volkov in the main attraction.
