Tupiniquim representative in UFC Las Vegas 18, Lara Procópio is scheduled to face Molly McCann this Saturday (6), in a fight valid for women's flyweight (up to 56,7kg.). The Brazilian hopes to use the 'gentle art' in combat to achieve her first victory in Ultimate.

“I had a lot of time to study Molly. She is a very aggressive athlete, she likes to go at it all the time, she likes this atmosphere of provocation, of getting into fights. However, she has many gaps in her jiu-jitsu and ground game. (…) And my game is to grab and finish, which is where I see that she has a deficit”, said Lara Procópio, in an interview with 'Combate'.
Regarding her preparation for the fight, the Minas Gerais native highlighted that she managed to 'lock herself up in the gym' during the COVID-19 pandemic period so that she could evolve her game and feels ready to emerge victorious.
“We managed to structure ourselves, form a group and train. Even though the times are not helping much, because of the pandemic, we managed to structure ourselves. I found out about this fight 17 weeks in advance, so we had plenty of time to train and rest. As much as this situation (pandemic) was not favorable, this time was very good for me. I was able to make one camp excellent”, added the athlete.
Lara Procópio, 25 years old, started her professional career in 2015. Since then, she has had seven fights, with six wins and one loss. The only setback occurred precisely in her Ultimate debut, against her compatriot Karol Rosa, at UFC Shenzhen, held in August 2020.
