Even evaluating the current situation of the best ranked players in his group, Kamaru admitted that, despite evaluating the future, his thoughts at the moment are the challenge against Durinho. For the champion, the Brazilian must be highlighted so that there are no surprises.
“Currently, my focus is on Gilbert Burns (Durinho). He stated that it is the fight he wants. He thinks he's the guy (to win), so all my focus is on him. Right now, I see nothing but doing my job against him. After that, no one appears. I know (Colby) Covington and (Jorge) Masvidal are paired together, and if either of them does something spectacular, it could be next,” he said.
In addition to his latest victims, Usman also sees a possibility of exchanging forces against the winner between Leon edwards e Khamzat Shimaev, who face each other in March.
“(Leon) Edwards and (Khamzat) Chimaev. If someone does something spectacular, they could be next. Of course I'm paying attention, but no one seems to be next,” he concluded.
Against Gilbert, Usman, 33, will make his third title defense. Champion since March 2019, the Nigerian beat Covington and Masvidal in his initial tests.
