The former UFC welterweight (up to 77kg) title challenger, Rory McDonald, should debut in the PFL, the league that promotes Grand Prix in each division in April. However, even before his first fight in the organization, he said he is open to a return to the UFC octagon in the future.

“Return to UFC? Possibly. We will see. I plan on having my best fights in the PFL over the next two years while I'm with them, but you never know what's going to happen after that,” mused Rory, in a Q&A video on 'YouTube'.
Rory McDonald spent six years – from 2010 to 2016 – in Ultimate and came to dispute the welterweight belt against Robbie Lawler. The fight, which received the 'Fight of the Year' award in 2015, ended with the North American winning in the fifth round.
The Canadian later signed with Bellator and won the division title by defeating Douglas lima in the unanimous decision of the judges, in January 2018. Coincidentally, Rory lost the belt against the Brazilian, in October 2019. The duel was the fighter's last in the company led by Scott Coker. Free on the market, he signed with the PFL, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic he has not yet been able to make his debut with the organization.
Professional since 2005, Rory McDonald, 31 years old, has a record of 21 wins, six losses and one draw in MMA.
