Judoka Ketleyn Quadros won Brazil's first medal at the Beijing Olympics this Monday morning. The Minas Tênis Clube athlete just defeated Australian Maria Pekli in the under-57kg category, with a war azari in the Golden Score.
“Everything happened very quickly. I don’t know how to explain it, when I won, I couldn’t believe it”, said the judoka, still emotional. Vibrating a lot, she highlighted that her greatest virtue was her persistence. “The thing was to believe and not bow down to anyone,” she explained.
