UFC President Dana White is excited about the fight between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown, which takes place on January 16th, at UFC Fight Island 7, in Abu Dhabi. In the president's opinion, the duel brings together two legendary and wild fighters from the welterweight division (up to 77,1 kg) and will not last three rounds.

“Yes, I am (excited for the fight). I don't see the fight completing three rounds either. There are two legendary and wild fighters in the co-main event. It's going to be fun”, said White, in an interview with the North American website 'MMA Junkie'.
Condit and Brown have already had two opportunities to face each other, in 2013 and 2018. However, the fights ended up falling apart. In 2021, Ultimate rescheduled the confrontation for Ilha da Luta 7.
Former interim welterweight champion, Carlos Condit, is 36 years old and has a record of 31 wins and 13 losses. Currently, he is coming off a triumph against Court mcgee, UFC Fight Island 4, in October 2020.
At 40 years old, Matt Brown has a history of 22 positive results and 17 negative results in professional MMA. However, the American ended up suffering a knockout against Miguel Baeza in his last fight. The duel took place in May 2020, at UFC Overeem vs. Harris.
