Willing to promote clashes that bring together as many spectators as possible, Dana White is working to bring back one of the most beloved names among the public: Nate diaz. In an interview with reporter Oscar Willis, the 'big boss' admitted that he negotiates with the 'bad boy’, who hasn’t fought since November 2019.

“We are working on a fight to Nate diaz currently in light weight (up to 70,3kg.). That would put him in a great position if he wins and if the guy he's likely to face is fighting. I think it’s a big fight for him too”, said the agent.
Famous for not keeping his tongue and presenting a different style from other athletes, Diaz also became popular with the public for his aggressiveness inside the octagon. The athlete's reputation as a bad boy took on such proportions that the combatant was chosen to face Jorge masvidal No. UFC 244, including the creation of a symbolic belt (BMF) given to the winner by the movie star, The Rock.
Since the clash against ‘Jesus das Ruas’, in which he was defeated by technical knockout, Nate has remained away from Ultimate, but has never ruled out a return. Eventually, the athlete releases training videos on his social networks, but never confirms a new confrontation.
Today, the lightweight division is considered one of the most competitive in the organization. Led by Khabib Nurmagomedov, the top of the group currently has names like Justin gaethje, Dustin poirier, Charles of the Bronx, Tony Ferguson and Diaz's rival, Conor McGregor.
Dana White tells me he's working on a fight for Nate diaz at lightweight: “It would put him in a really good position if he won the fight and the guy who he could potentially be fighting, I think it's a great fight for him too.”
