One of the biggest promises in Brazilian women's MMA, Amanda ribas is confident in the fight against his compatriot Marina Rodriguez. The duel takes place in UFC 257, January 23rd, on Luta Island, in Abu Dhabi. Coming from a streak of five consecutive victories, the Minas Gerais native stated that she wants to surprise in the confrontation so that she can get closer to a fight for the strawweight title (under 52,1kg). “I hope it happens very quickly and I want to knockout or submit, because I like quick fights. But she is very tough. (…), I was supposed to fight Carla (Esparza) and I don’t know what happened. Then, I would face Michelle (Waterson), and they are both very well ranked. So, if I have a great fight against Marina, I can move up in the category and maybe fight for the title”, said Amanda.

Asked about the possibility of facing the current champion Weili Zhang In the future, the Minas Gerais woman praised the Chinese woman.

“She’s tough. She is the champion. So, if in the future I fight against her, I will train very hard, train my stand-up fighting and my agility, because she is very fast, strong and good”, she concluded.

At 27 years old, Amanda ribas, has 11 commitments as a professional in MMA. Currently, there are 10 triumphs and one setback. In his last fight, which took place in UFC 251, in July 2020, she completed the North American paige vanzant in the first round.
