'Forgotten' by Ultimate in the light heavyweight (up to 93kg) title fight, Glover Teixeira can participate, in a certain way, in the UFC 259, which will feature Jan Blachowicz e Israel adesanya. This is because the Minas Gerais native could be the immediate reserve for one of the athletes, in case something unforeseen happens on the card that takes place on March 21st. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the Brazilian spoke about the possibility.

“Of course, I’m rooting for that. It sucks, I never root for someone to get hurt, but in this case I will (laughs),” said Glover.
In a great phase, coming off five consecutive victories, the Brazilian's recent positive record has seen him take first place in the division's rankings. Even though he heard from Dana White himself that he deserved a chance to fight for the title, the organization chose to promote a superfight between the light heavyweight champion and the middleweight leader (up to 83,9kg). In this way, the Minas Gerais player's current plan is to make himself available for replacement.
“I just got back from my vacation. I'm going to talk to Joinha (Jorge Guimarães, businessman) and see what we're going to do. I would have to do a complete camp (training period). So even if I have to wait, at least I did a camp. I’m not going to lose pace,” said Teixeira.
Glover hasn't fought since November of last year. On that occasion, the Brazilian exchanged forces and surprised his compatriot, Thiago Marreta, via submission in the third round. In the clash, Teixeira, 41 years old, proved, once again, that he is capable of facing and beating younger opponents at the top of the category.
