On her Instagram account, the athlete confirmed the postponement of her farewell, but guaranteed to put on a great show in the confrontation that will seal her career as a professional in MMA.

“I was training really hard, but in the middle of the night I started to feel unbearable pain. I was admitted to the hospital and was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. The doctors warned that it was a severe case and emergency surgery would be necessary”, wrote the Brazilian.
Outside of the first card of the year, Bethe guaranteed to remain focused on promoting her farewell fight from the UFC, which will also represent her goodbye to MMA. There are still no predictions about when the athlete will be able to return to the octagon.
“I want to thank the UFC and Dana White for all their support over the years. My ‘last dance’ and retirement will have to be postponed for a while. I can’t wait to give you an incredible performance”, concluded the fighter.
Bethe gained worldwide fame when she qualified to face the legendary Ronda Rousey for the UFC bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg.), in 2015. On that occasion, the Paraíba native ended up defeated by the then champion.
Pitbull's last performance took place in July 2020, against Pannie kianzad. In the duel, the Brazilian was beaten by the judges' unanimous decision.
