Brazilian Júnior dos Santos was massacred by the American Cain Velazquez in the main fight of UFC 155 and lost the heavyweight belt to his rival, but there was a dispute at the event in which Cigano was the winner. The Brazilian went home with a check for 400 thousand dollars (more than 800 thousand reais, at the current currency rate) and topped the ranking of the highest paid at the event, held in Las Vegas.

Cigano's opponent, and once again holder of the UFC heavyweight belt, Cain Velazquez received exactly half of the amount paid to the Brazilian. The third highest paid was the middleweight Yushin Okami. The Japanese took home $84, including the bonus for his victory over Alan belcher.
