The year 2020 ended last week, but it's still not possible to start 2021 without remembering the best finishes of the season. As jiu-jitsu is a Brazilian specialty, the country's athletes lead the list of nominees in the top 10 of 2020.

Before making history and defeating the feared Tony Ferguson No. UFC 256, Charles of the Bronx claimed a victim in its own territory. For the UFC Brasilia, in March last year, the São Paulo native made his jiu-jitsu famous and surpassed Kevin Lee with a submission in the opening seconds of the third round. The result marked the lightweight's seventh consecutive victory (up to 70,3kg) and confirmed the athlete as one of the most dangerous names in the division.

In the fight that sealed his farewell to the UFC, Fabricio Werdum accepted nothing less than a great performance. Against Alexander Gustafson, who was making his debut in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg), the former category champion had no trouble overcoming the Swede. Specialist in the 'gentle art', 'Vai Cavalo' needed less than three minutes to finish his opponent. Challenger for the bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg.), aljamain sterling stamped the passport to face Petr yan in undisputed victory over Cory Sandhagen. In the fight held in June, for UFC 250, the fighter took no notice of his opponent and eliminated his rival with a rear naked choke in the first round. After the triumph, the fighter was confirmed as the current champion's opponent. The fight for the belt should have taken place in December, but, due to personal problems, the Russian ended up leaving the show and, as a result, the fight was canceled and remains without a new date.
