After the performance was switched off in the UFC Las Vegas 17, held last Saturday (19), Antonio Arroyo continues without winning in Ultimate. At the weekend, the Brazilian had the opportunity to recover from the defeat suffered in his debut, a year ago, but ended up dominated by Deron Winn in a unanimous decision by the judges. On social media, the man from Pará, however, shows optimism about the future. Focused, the fighter promises total focus for recovery.

“I'm fine, for everyone who supports me. I didn't suffer any blows, no damage, my face is clean. Unfortunately, it wasn't my night. My opponent managed to play his role well, which is the takedown game, the 'antigame', which slows down the fight, makes the fight monotonous, boring, without much movement. I couldn’t avoid this game”, said the Brazilian, on his Instagram account.

In the clash against Winn, Arroyo ended up being a victim of his opponent's excellent wrestling. Even with his greater reach, Antônio was unable to stop his opponent's attacks, who knocked him down more than 10 times in the 15 minutes played. Assessing the situation, the man from Pará stated that the errors will be fixed so that there is a consistent performance when he returns to the octagon.

"I learned. I will adjust with my coaches and we will improve. I still have two fights left on my contract. I will rise again. With faith, I will rise again. Thank you for everything”, concluded the athlete.

Arroyo arrived in the UFC after his participation in 'Dana White's Contender Series'. At the time, the athlete got his contract after submitting Sephen Regman in the second round. In his Ultimate debut, however, the Brazilian ended up being surpassed by Andrew Muniz and now, after the new setback, the middleweight (up to 83,9kg) continues to need a positive result to stabilize in the company.
