Almost a week after the defeat to Cyryl Gane No. UFC 256, the negative result of junior gypsy continues to generate controversy. In his first statement after the setback, the Brazilian, just like in the Octagon, accused his opponent of having won the triumph after an illegal blow to the back of the head, which would have been essential for the triumph. In an interview with 'MMA fighting', the Santa Catarina native explained the situation.

“They said (the blow) also hit the ear, so it was valid. But it was his forearm, close to his hand, that hit my ear, but his elbow was exactly fitted to the back of my head. I blacked out for a few seconds and when I came back, it was too late. I felt pain in my head and, when I looked on the screen, I saw him connecting the blow to the back of the head”, said the Brazilian.

Cigano continued arguing his point of view on the outcome of the triumph. The athlete, who shook after a jab from his opponent before the knockout, stated that he was not in a position to give up in the moments before the end.

“People are saying I turned heads. To me, this is absurd. I was already on my side and he held me in that position for about 10 seconds, then he released the elbow. I don’t think it was intentional (…), but that doesn’t make it legal,” said Júnior.

The result complicated Cigano's situation within the UFC. The setback confirmed the fourth consecutive defeat for the organization's former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) and, after last weekend's spectacle, Dana White stated that this may have been the Brazilian's farewell to the company. Júnior, then, continues without agreeing with the outcome of the fight that put him in this situation.

“It is absurd to think that I will accept this result as normal, as fair. It wasn `t fair. I am a fair person and I live like this, as always”, he concluded.
