“I don't see myself winning and talking about fighting for a belt or something like that, that's not even on my mind. I have to win, I've built my career on victories, and that's what I'm always looking for, to always be winning. Since I got into the sport, I will always look for that. I have no expectations of thinking about the belt. Firstly, I have to win, win, win, and then see what I can achieve. On Saturday I have Marlon and I have to beat him, and then someone else will be called, and another, and after that I’ll see what happens”, said Aldo, in an interview with ‘Combate’.

This weekend, the Brazilian will step into the octagon for the second time in 2020. In July, the man from Manaus accepted the challenge of facing Petr yan for the vacant category title. In the confrontation, the ‘People’s Champion’ fought a balanced duel, but ended up losing by knockout in the last round.

Before that, Aldo had made his debut in the category in December 2019, in a confrontation against Marlon moraes. The fight against his compatriot ended controversially. Although some fans, members of the specialized press and even Dana White think that the man from Manaus was the winner of the duel, in the opinion of the majority of judges, the man from Friburgo won the fight on points.
