Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Jon Jones may finally be back in the octagon. According to UFC president, Dana White, the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) is ready to return and is excited to finally make his heavyweight debut (up to 120,2kg).

"Jon Jones He has been in the UFC for over 10 years. We had the best conversation we've ever had about a week ago, and he's ready to go back. His head is in the right place and we are in a very good place,” White told British channel BT Sports.

When asked if Jones would fight for the heavyweight title in the next round, Dana White says he won't 'jump the queue' for Miocic x Ngannou.

“No, he can't overcome Francis (Ngannou) and fight for the title. I don't know what we're going to do yet, or how it's going to happen, but we're working on it. (…) He is excited for this challenge and willing to consolidate his legacy as the greatest of all time.”, stated Dana.

The president also revealed that he would like to see a fight between Jones and the current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), Israel adesanya, still in 2021.

“(Jones vs. Adesanya is) the fight I would love to see. Someone asked me yesterday if you could have a fight in 2021 – that's the fight I chose. (…), But the next fight to be made is a superfight between Adesanya and Blachowicz for the light heavyweight belt.”, he concluded.

At 33 years old, Jones has a record of 26 wins, one loss and one fight without result. In his most recent fight, which took place at UFC 247, in February 2020, he won Dominick reyes in the unanimous decision of the judges.
