UFC president Dana White was critical of the current welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) Kamaru Usman in the past. However, the leader appears to have changed his mind. According to him, the Nigerian could be on the shelf of the best fighters of all time when his career ends.
Reacting to a post on Instagram from the 'Freak.mma' page, the 'boss' didn't stray from the line when he revealed that he became a fan of the champion. “No one was more critical of Kamaru Usman earlier than me. (…) He’s incredible no matter where the fight goes. When he finishes his career, he will be one of the greatest of all time,” White wrote.

In 2018, after beating Emil Meek by decision, Usman revealed that he “only used 30% of his skill” to finish the fight. However, the agent did not like the statement.
“Yeah, he’s a tough guy. Yes, he can impose his will. But you can't start acting like you knocked someone out and say you only used 30% of your talent. So what does this mean? What if you're on pay-per-view? Do you use 60 percent?” said the boss.
Next belt defense
Kamaru Usman defended the welterweight belt for the last time in UFC 251, in July, when he defeated Jorge masvidal in the unanimous decision of the judges. The Nigerian would initially put the title at stake in the UFC 256, last Saturday (12), against the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho, but he asked for more time to prepare and the clash was postponed to February 2021, at UFC 258.
