UFC-155: Cigano meets Velasquez again to close 2012 with the belt

After much anticipation, the big day arrived! junior gypsy puts the heavyweight belt on the line against Cain Velazquez, considered by many the biggest threat to the Brazilian’s reign. The fight will be the main attraction of UFC 155, an event that takes place tonight (29), in Las Vegas, in the United States.

The fight between Cigano and Velasquez is a rematch of the duel that took place in December 2011. At the time, Cigano was the challenger and considered the underdog. But just over a minute into the fight, the Brazilian knocked out the American of Mexican descent and won the category title.

Showing respect for his opponent, the Brazilian praised Velasquez, but did not hide his desire to repeat the performance of the first clash between them.

“This fight means everything to me. Velasquez is a great fighter, a great challenge. But I know you like knockouts. One more is coming for you”, said Cigano after the weigh-in.

On the other hand, Cain, who claims that he did not appear in the first fight without fully recovering from an injury, hopes not to repeat the mistakes of the first battle and regain the most coveted belt in Ultimate.

“The only reason I'm in the UFC is I want to be the best. That's why I got into the sport and that's all I think about. I already know what I did wrong in the first fight and I will correct it this time. This rematch means everything to me”, declared the Mexican descendant.

In addition to the heavyweight title fight, the UFC 155 fight program will not feature other fights involving Brazilians. The evening show will be broadcast live on Sportv and the Combate channel, on pay-per-view, from 22 pm. Check out the full event card below.
