One of the protagonists of UFC Las Vegas 16, which takes place this Saturday (5), in the United States, Jack hermansson he didn't let the last-minute change of opponent change his focus. The Swede, who will exchange forces against the promising Marvin vettori, believes that a great performance could put him in the front line to face the current middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Israel adesanya.

“I think I should face (Israel adesanya) next, as he has already beaten (Robert) Whittaker and (Paulo) Costa (Borrachinha). I think it would be exciting for the fans to see him face someone with my style, with grappling, and see how he would do against me. I believe this should happen, but I've heard the UFC say that Whittaker is next in line and, if that's the case, I'm ready to face him for the No. 1 contender position if necessary,” said Hermansson, in an interview with 'Combat'.

To get on Ultimate's radar once and for all for a title fight, Jack, who is the current number four in the category, will need to put on an impressive performance against a modified opponent with less than two weeks to go before the clash. The fighter, who was confirmed to face Darren till and depois Kevin holland talked about changing opponents.

“Most of the camp was focused on the Darren till, we prepare for a lefty. And that's a good thing, because Marvin is also left-handed. I think we have a lot of techniques we can use with him. But Marvin is a more physical fighter, he's a little different. I think he's a little more like Darren till than with (Kevin) Holland, and I think the training is very transferable to Marvin, actually. I've seen Marvin fight many times, I've known him for years, and I'm ready for him. I don't need a lot of study time. We made some adjustments in training and it’s already looking good,” he concluded.

In his last performance, Hermansson put on a show in the confrontation against Kelvin Gastelum. Facing the former challenger for the category's interim belt, the Swede achieved a submission in less than two minutes, recovering from the defeat he suffered against Jared Cannonier.

Current number 13 in the group, Vettori is also going through a good phase. With three consecutive victories, the Italian has not lost since 2018, when he was beaten by Israel adesanya, when the Nigerian had not yet held the title.
