Even before the superfight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., Evander Holyfield made clear his desire to promote a trilogy against 'Iron Man'. Now, with the path clear and after watching his rival do well last weekend, the former world heavyweight champion doesn't want to waste time and has started the campaign for the rematch of the two duels held in the 1990s.

“No chasing. Let's get in the ring and dance one more time, Mike. Time to give the world what they really want to watch,” Evander wrote on his Instagram account.

The meeting between Tyson and Holyfield was forever marked in the history of world boxing. In 1996, the fighters exchanged forces for the first time, when Mike ended up losing the WBA belt via technical knockout.

The following year, the 'Iron Man' tried to regain his position as champion, but, instead, he ended up starring in one of the most controversial and regrettable episodes in the history of the sport. Visibly out of his mind and losing the fight, Tyson, in the third round, ended up biting and literally ripping off a piece of his rival's ear. Mike ended up disqualified in the match and was beaten again.

More than 23 years later, the fighters could be placed on a collision course again. Today, Tyson is 54 years old, while Evander is 58. Like Mike, Holyfield returned to training in 2020 and is also rehearsing his return to the ring.
