Kevin Souza confirmed his good phase in MMA last Friday. In action in Jungle Fight 47, an event held in Porto Alegre, the pupil of Thiago tavares scored his third consecutive victory on the show against Mauro Chaulet. Satisfied with his performances in 2012, the Attack Duplo fighter aims for an even better next year.
“I am very happy with this very important year in my career, where I was able to debut in Jungle Fight and fight three fights against very difficult opponents and come away with a knockout victory in all of them. This last one of the year was even more special because he was coming off an injury, he wasn't 100% with his hand and he (Mauro Chaulet) really valued the duel”, said Kevin, who is already thinking about playing outside the country, but always with his feet in floor.
“I’m going to take it one step at a time. I was frustrated for not being on TUF twice, but now I understand that the best is yet to come. O Jungle Fight It is a spectacular event and has an incredible proportion within Latin America. When I am called to fight, I will be ready to seek another knockout, always respecting my opponent. But I will do everything to get to the belt in my category.”
Resting after the marathon to travel, lose weight, recover his body, fight and return home, the boxing teacher commented on the tribute that took place in the community where he was born and thanked everyone who supported him in this feat.
“Man, before I started the fight I received a call from Salvador with the people saying that they closed the street where I grew up there in Dique Novo (a neighborhood in the capital of Bahia) and put up a big screen for people to watch me. Imagine the pressure I was under because there were a lot of people I couldn't disappoint. What happened is exciting. I confess that I cried,” he concluded.
