One of the protagonists of UFC Las Vegas 15, which takes place this Saturday (28), in the United States, Derrick Lewis surprised during an online press conference. When asked which opponent he would like to face after facing Curtis blaydes, the heavyweight giant (up to 120,2kg.) caused astonishment by challenging none other than Conor McGregor, which operates in the lightweight (up to 70,3kg) and welterweight (up to 77kg) divisions.

“There's a guy who's been talking nonsense for years and I'd like to confront him: Conor McGregor. He's been challenging me. In every interview, he challenges me. So, I need to fight him next”, said Lewis, in a serious tone.
In current MMA terms, a clash between Conor and Derrick would be practically impossible, as it would place athletes more than 30kg apart. of difference in action. While Lewis would find it difficult to get his weight down, the 'Notorious' challenge to get closer to a heavyweight was another tricky commitment.
This weekend, Derrick will return to the octagon to face the current number two in the group led by Stipe Miocic. If he emerges victorious, the giant will place himself in a prominent position in the category and will return to the spotlight for a future title fight. The athlete fought for the belt in 2018, when he was surpassed by the then champion, Daniel Cormier.
Without fighting since January this year, McGregor also has a commitment scheduled. The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion will face Dustin poirier No. UFC 257, on January 23rd. The winner must become the next challenger for the 70,3kg division title.
