The week of the return of Mike Tyson to the rings, boxing is on the rise. Recently, the father of the world champion Tyson Fury, John, showed all his confidence in his son and, on a British TV program, stated that he would cover a bet – made by former champion David Haye – of 1 million pounds (about R$7,1 million) on an eventual confrontation against fellow champion, Anthony Joshua. The heavyweights are negotiating two presentations for 2021.

Owner of the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt, Fury has been at the top of the category since February this year. On that occasion, the Englishman shocked the world by dethroning the then undefeated Deontay Wilder by knockout, in a rematch eagerly awaited by sports fans. In the first fight, in December 2018, the combatants had drawn.
Responsible for holding the WBA (World Boxing Association), WBO (World Boxing Council), IBF (International Boxing Federation) and IBO (International Boxing Organization) titles in the heavyweight division, Joshua regained his position as champion in December of last year. In June 2019, the Brit ended up being surprised by Andy Ruiz Jr. and lost his position as category leader, in addition to his unbeaten record in his career. Six months later, Anthony would regain the crown.
While Tyson has no fight scheduled, Joshua will return to the ring next month. On December 12th, the athlete will face the dangerous Kubrat Pulev, putting all of his belts on the line. If he emerges victorious, Anthony leaves the way open for a superfight against Fury.
