Brazilian Fábio Maldonado is the typical fighter who doesn't shy away from the fight. After agreeing to replace the injured person Quinton Rampage Jackson at UFC Rio 3, in October, and face Glover Teixeira, the athlete from São Paulo is willing to take on another challenge at short notice.
Alessio Sakara would face Patrick Cote at UFC 158 in March. However, citing kidney problems, the Italian was removed from the card and the Canadian is without an opponent. With that, Maldonado, who was already planning to move down to the middleweight category, revealed that he would agree to a duel against the Canadian.
“If the UFC wants, I’ll cover this card and Patrick Cote won’t be left without an opponent,” said the athlete, via his personal Twitter.
In his last fight, in front of Glover Teixeira, at UFC Rio 3, Maldonado showed enough resistance to withstand a harsh punishment and put on a great duel. However, the Brazilian's situation is not comfortable within the show. The Team Nogueira athlete comes from three consecutive defeats.
